Sewing Adventure 2018

When the Luke’s Team puts on an event of this size, you know it’s going to be EPIC!  Our Sewing Adventure was just that.  An adventure of fun, sewing, discounts, giveaways, and informative educators!  We always have a great time when there is a room filled with more than 80 passionate sewists and huge discounts on notions and machines!

Day one we were graced by Gina Hodges and her southern charm.  She took time to explain some of her favorite tricks and share her love of pillows!  She does get a little carried away sometimes with those pillows, but her soothing teaching method and “Everybody needs to have fun” attitude kept everyone wanting to hear more.  Gina shared some of her favorite feet and their various uses for projects of all kinds.  The samples she brought with her trunk show were great examples that inspired us all.

Day two featured the fearless free motion artist, Eric Drexler, from Sulky and his breathtaking quilting.  We thoroughly enjoyed his quick wit that kept us all laughing and his silly facial expressions.  Even being the joker he is, Eric is serious about quilting and his affection for these works of art captured us all.  His trunk show featured some of the most stunning quilting and he not only described technique, but even detailed the thread he used for certain tricky pieces.

Now, it wouldn’t be a true Luke’s party without tasty breakfast snacks, lunch, and Margaret keeping our excitement up with LOTS of giveaways and door prizes.  We usually have to have someone stop her or she gets carried away….  Literally!  Nick comes and lovingly escorts his bride away before she gives everything out as a gift.

A very special thank you goes out to all the Luke’s staff for their amazing work and to the Educators who continue to support and assist at these events and in the stores.  We truly don’t know what we would do without you.
